Forest of Dean Training Days are set to return, offering members and their hounds another opportunity to train in one of the most scenic and historically rich landscapes in the country.
When We Train
The Forest of Dean provides an exceptional setting for tracking, with ancient woodland, open glades, and rolling ground that replicate the type of conditions Bavarian Mountain Hounds were bred to work in. The varied terrain challenges both hound and handler, helping to refine scent-tracking skills in a natural environment.
The Forest of Dean is one of the oldest surviving woodlands in England, with a long history of forestry, hunting, and working dogs. This heritage makes it an especially fitting venue for Bavarian Mountain Hound training. Its scale and diversity offer a rewarding backdrop for developing the breed’s unique talents.
What to Expect
Participants can look forward to:
When We Train
- Training days will run once a month.
