Our regular Cannock Training Days are one of the best opportunities for members and their hounds to come together, learn, and put the breed’s natural tracking ability into practice. Training takes place once a month with each session including up to 5–6 dogs, ensuring every hound and handler receives individual attention and plenty of time to work.
About Cannock
Cannock offers an ideal training environment, with a mix of woodland, heathland, and undulating ground. These varied landscapes provide realistic challenges that help build confidence in both hounds and handlers, from working in dense cover to following a scent across more open ground. Our Cannock training venue is steeped in local history. The area has long been associated with forestry, hunting, and working dogs, making it a fitting setting for Bavarian Mountain Hounds to showcase and develop their abilities. Today, it provides a safe, controlled, and authentic space where training can be both educational and enjoyable.
What to Expect
During the day, hounds and owners will:
- Learn to lay tracks for your hounds.
- Complete a Level 1/Level 2 Track - dependent on booking specifics.
- Learn techniques for handling, communication, and reading their dog’s natural instincts.
- Build relationships with other owners and share experiences within a supportive community.
Our training days are designed to be both practical and rewarding, helping to develop the partnership between hound and handler while celebrating the unique capabilities of the Bavarian Mountain Hound.
