Rescue

We are here to offer help to anyone who needs to find a new home (for whatever reason), for their Bavarian Mountain Hound. Circumstances and lifestyles change and what we thought was forever sometimes isn't so we are here to help you.

All calls are treated in the strictest confidence.

Our main aim is to find the right home for your Bavarian where he/she will be cared for ,for the rest of his/her life. We home check or vet check new owners, who are not known to us and your houndwill be well looked after until a new home is found. We take time to find the most suitable adopter and circumstances for each individual hound in our care.
When bringing your hound in, please ensure you provide us with certificates ofvvaccination and chipping and, if possible take a few minutes to write avsimple information sheet about your hounds likes, dislikes, favouritevfood, toys etc as this information will be very helpful.

As our title suggests we cover all of the UK, this is England, Walesand Scotland. We do not currently rehomed to Northern Island or Eire.
In the first instance contact a member of the committee to discuss the current circumstances of your hound
.

Adoption Procedure.

All hounds that occasionally come into our care, are kept with experienced Bavarian Handlers, whilst they are assessed. If after the assessment of the hound and the necessary checks have been completed, we will be in touch to arrange a meeting.

Adoption Application.

If you would like to be considered to adopt one of our hounds you will need to complete an application form. .

It is important that you fully complete the form and give as much information as possible in your application as this allows us to not only assess your suitability for the adoption of a Bavarian. but also helps us to make sure we find you the most suitable hound for your needs and circumstances.

Once we have received your application, you will receive an acknowledgement
.

After Adoption.

The Bavarian will remain the property of the Society and the dog or bitch cannot be bred from without express written permission from the Society committee. A proportion of stud fees or profits from a litter of puppies will become payable to the Society to care for other dogs in our care. If after the adoption your circumstances change or you experience difficulties with the hound, then it shall not be resold but returned to the Society.

The Society request a donation of £300 to adopt a Bavarian, this helps care for the expenses related to hounds placed in our care.

We do not currently have any dogs available for adoption but do have a
waiting list, please feel free to apply for the waiting list, as dogs
do become available at very short notice.
